Hello Troop 20!
There will be a Troop Eagle Court of Honor this Thursday, June 17th at 7:00PM at Sacred Heart Parish Hall! Please remember that we line up for our opening ceremony at 7:00PM so you need to plan to be at the hall about 10 minutes earlier. Please arrive wearing your Class A uniform and have a mask.
At this week's meeting, we will be holding an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for three more of our Scouts, Travis Hewins, Nick Clayton, and Gerritt Bingham-Maas all earned the Eagle Scout Rank over the past several months. This weeks meeting is to recognize their achievement and officially present them with the Eagle Scout rank and Medal. All of our Scouts should be in attendance to honor our newest Eagles. We are also hoping we can get a group Eagle Scout picture at the end of the meeting.
Summer Camp 2021 - Camp Squanto:
Troop 20 will be attending Camp Squanto during the first week of August (Aug 1-7). We have been assigned to campsite Sioux, which is down next to the waterfront.

Mayflower Council has not yet released the list of merit badges being offered. We will get that information out to everyone as soon as it becomes available.
Below are the policy changes that Camp Squanto has informed us of for 2021.
- There will be no visitors allowed into camp this year, so parents will be unable to visit mid-week as in prior years.
- The camp will not allow taking scouts in and out of camp during the week, other than for a medical appointment.
- All scouts must plan to arrive on Sunday. You cannot arrive later in the week, although they can leave camp early.
- From a leaders standpoint, they will allow for one change of leaders mid-week, Wednesday, and they will not allow leaders dropping in and out of camp for visits.
- Scouts will be sharing a tent with another scout as in previous years, versus one scout to a tent as was going to be the case before the relaxation of the summer camp guidance.
- Finally, scouts can only bring store-bought packaged food items into camp, no homemade items will be allowed.
We will have more information about what Scouts should plan to bring with them to summer camp shortly.
Medical Forms!
All Scouts and Leaders must have a current medical form on file with the Troop. The form consists of 3 parts (A, B, & C) and should be updated at least annually.
All participants, in all Scouting activities, must have a completed Part A and Part B on file. This applies to all activities, day camps, local tours, and weekend camping trips less than 72 hours.
- Part A is an informed consent, release agreement, and authorization that needs to be signed by every participant (or a parent and/or legal guardian for all youth under 18).
- Part B is general information and a health history.
For anyone going to summer camp, you must have Part C of the medical form completed by your physician. A nurse practitioner, or physician assistant is also acceptable. They must complete the actual Part C form from the medical document and it must be signed by the licensed medical professional.
You can download the current BSA Medical Form by visiting:
www.scouting.org/health-andsafety/ahmr/
IMPORTANT: Select the 'Download Form' button next to 'Are You Going to Camp?' to get the full 3 part form.
There is also a Medical Form Instruction document available.
Scouts should give their completed forms to one of the Scoutmasters to be kept in a secure location. If you have any questions or concerns, please see one of the Troop leaders.
Reminder:
At the end of each Troop meeting, please hang around for a few minutes to help put away any tables and chairs and to help sanitize any areas that may need it.
We look forward to seeing all of our Scouts this Thursday at
Sacred Heart Parish Hall!
