Committee Meeting / PLC and Troop Meeting this Thursday, October 3rd, at Sacred Heart Parish Hall - 6:00pm Committee / 7:00pm Troop

Hello Troop 20!


There will be a committee meeting and PLC this Thursday at 6:00pm at Sacred Heart Parish Hall.  We will have our regular weekly Troop Meeting from 7:00 - 8:30pm.

Please remember that we line up for our opening ceremony at 7:00PM so you need to plan to be at the hall about 10 minutes earlier.  Please arrive wearing your Class A uniform, shirts tucked in, and appropriate footwear.

Upcoming Events:

First Court of Honor:  Troops 20 & 96 will be having our first Court of Honor of the year on Thursday, October 10th.  If you have any blue cards to submit for merit badges, the deadline to submit is this Thursday, October 3rd.  If you are ready for rank advancement and will be needing a Scoutmaster Conference, you need to reach out to Mr. Swindle before this Thursday's meeting so that we can fit in a Board of Review.

 

Citizenship Merit Badges:  Mr. McKinnon will be at the troop meetings every other week to teach all three of the Citizenship merit badges.  If you have not yet earned the Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, or Citizenship in the World merit badges, and you are interested in pursuing the Eagle Scout rank, please know that these are ALL REQUIRED merit badges for the Eagle rank.  You should be taking advantage of this opportunity to earn these merit badges.  We will post his availability schedule in the Troop Calendar as soon as we have it updated.   

 

 

Washburn Island:  The Washburn Island Canoe/Camping Trip is coming up this weekend, October 4 to October 6.  Please remember that this trip will be individual meal plans so you are each responsible for bringing what you plan to eat.  If you're unsure how to plan for this, please reach out to one of the older Scouts that will be going on the trip.  We will post departure and return times this week so please keep an eye on the blog.

 

Eagle Scout Court of Honor:  Mark Swindle's Eagle Scout Court of Honor will be held Saturday, November 2nd, at 1:00PM in the Middleborough Town Hall Ballroom.  Rehearsal will be on Thursday, October 24th.

2019 Popcorn Sales - OUR 2019 POPCORN CAMPAIGN IS UNDERWAY and runs from September 12th through October 24th!  
Scouts can receive credit for 35% of their total TAKE ORDER toward their individual Scout accounts that they can apply to any Troop 20 event!  
 Order forms will be available at this week's Troop meeting on September 12th.  PLEASE SEE MRS. MACDONALD IF YOU ARE INTERESTED!
