Thursday Meetings

  • There will be a final committee meeting on Thursday 6PM
  • Scout meeting at 7PM
  • There will also be SPL elections on Thursday so make sure you are there to cast your VOTE.
    • SPL that are considering a leadership role should understand the responsibility that comes with this position.

10 mile Hike Tomorrow

There will be 10 Mile hike tomorrow at Massasoit State Park -   Middleboro Ave.  East Taunton  7:30 AM (hike should be completed by noon) please meet in the parking lot.

Scouts should bring plenty of water and dress accordingly as the weather is calling for showers. Please read your scout book for items to bring on the hike. 
Parents please be available by phone.

Please check the blog prior to leaving for any last minute changes.

There will be a uniform inspection tomorrow so please have your Class A uniform pressed and ready for inspection.
Memorial Day Parade on Monday please meet behind town hall at 9:30 am in the parking lot.

Mr Lamoureux and Mr Cassady have completed the practical part of Wood Badge!
Now they need to "work their tickets"
(Their tickets are like mini eagle projects and are designed to improve the Troop vs an Eagle Project that is designed to benefit the community)
And as we all know Buffalos are better than Beavers

OA Members Please Read

Conclave is quickly approaching and we need to confirm the lodge contingent.  You are receiving this because you have signed up to attend.  Below are important instructions regarding conclave registration.  Registration is due by Friday, May 24, 2013.  We will also be having a pre-conclave meeting on June 2, 2013 at 1pm at St. Mary’s Church in Norton.  There we will be collecting medical forms, finalizing travel arraignments, signing up for activities, and answering general questions.  We do need drivers for this event.  Please let me (Mr. Cassady) know if you can drive and how many scouts can ride along.

Payment is due by Friday, May 24, 2013.

Help Needed

Pack 20 is asking for some help from our troop for their Family Outing this Saturday 1PM at Camp Yomechas. They are looking for scouts to run some activities, help with the monkey bridge, flag poles and much more. You are invited to stay and enjoy the cookout and campfire!!!

If you're not going to camp Sayre this weekend and are interested in helping out please see Mr. B.Thursday night.

Weekend Events Please Read

Eagle Scout Project 
9AM start on Saturday
Scouts that are 1st Class and above may attend the Eagle Project 

Animal Shelter
50 Joe Ciaglo Way (off rte 44)

10 Mile Hike Saturday 

Scouts need to arrive at the Morgan Property on Long Pond Road at 6:30 AM parking is limited you will see a white sign that says Morgan Property (if you get to the lake you have gone too far)
Parents need to be reachable by phone

  • Scouts please read up on what items are required for the hike
  • Scouts need to have secured a ride home. (hike should be over by 11am)
  • Proper foot wear, clothing depending on the weather,(possible rain gear) backpack with scout book, water, snack and other required material for the hike.
  • No bathrooms
  • And most important have FUN.

  • Meeting Tomorrow 7PM
  • Summer Camp
    • Payment is due in full in order to receive the early bird discount.  If you have paid the $50.00 deposit your balance is $285.00.  If you have not paid a deposit then $335 is due.
    • If you are unable to pay in full tomorrow then there will be a $25.00 late fee and the total bill would be $360.00.  If you have paid the $50.00  deposit then you would owe $310.00

  • Hike and Campout May 17th - 19th
    • The Troop has secured a campsite at Camp Sayre/Blue Hills for May 17th thru 19th.  The plan is arrival late on Friday - hike on Saturday - depart Sunday morning (after a trip to the weather station head count is needed for this) Please plan to attend tomorrow's meeting as well as next week so that plans can be made and confirmed.
    • We will need a headcount of scouts and leaders that are interested in attending. Please see Mr. B if you would like to attend.
  • Cape Code Rail Trail
    • A site has been reserved at Camp Greenough and a bike trip is planned for the end of June stay tuned for more details

UPDATED Veteran's Cemetery Flag

Tomorrow 7 AM at the VFW.  Free breakfast.
You will be separated into groups and deployed from the VFW to different locations.

Volunteers needed to replace Veteran's cemetery flags, May 4th.....with a rain date of May 18th.
