Thank you!

Mitch and Matt want to extend their thanks to all the scouts, leaders and families who gave time over the past three weekends to help with their Eagle Projects.  They are now complete!

Weekly Updates

There will be a regular Troop meeting this Thursday, March 31st at 7:00 PM at the Parish Hall.

Also, Mr. Provencher, the Director of Veterans' Service, is looking for volunteers to replace the flags at local cemeteries in Middleborough.  This is usually done early in May, but it is happening earlier this year, this Saturday, April 2nd.  Please see below, and if you are interested in volunteering, please email Mrs. Melchin at castlebeckons@gmail.com, as he needs a volunteer count.  Please see his message below:

Please note that we moved the date for doing the flag replacement event up to early April this year. This was done for a couple of reasons. First of all, it will be great to have all the new flags in place prior to Patriots Day as further way of honoring our Revolutionary War veterans. Secondly, May is such a busy month with outdoors activities and such that we don’t get the chance to have as many young people involved in our flag replacement event. I feel that they need to be kept aware of the importance of veterans and what they did to keep our country free and independent.
Therefore the  date set to replace veterans cemetery flags is Saturday April 2rd 2016 with a rain date of Saturday the April 9th 2016. This is the first of several events to commemorate Memorial Day. Last year local Little League ball players, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and their families assisted other members of the community and local veterans with this task, and they did a great job. The day starts at 7:00am downstairs at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 2188 on Station Street with a free breakfast for all that attend, hosted jointly by John F. Glass VFW Post 2188, the Simeon L. Nickerson American Legion Post 64, Chapter 57 of the Disabled  American Veterans, and the Oak Point Veterans’ Association all of Middleborough. We move on from the VFW as groups to the various cemeteries around town, and finish up prior to lunch.

Also, a few items are missing after the ski trip last weekend.  Please check through your items to be sure you don't have something that doesn't belong to you; if you are missing something, please mention it to a leader at the meeting.  If you did attend the ski trip, please bring a ski jacket and hat, as they didn't get a chance to take a group photo and would like to take one tomorrow night.
