Eagle CoH Rehearsal - Thursday, 3/29 - Town Hall Ballroom (7:00pm)
Hello Troop 20 and Happy Spring!
Just another reminder that we will be having a rehearsal meeting this Thursday, March 29th, at the Middleborough Town Hall Ballroom to practice for Preston Brown's Eagle Court of Honor (Saturday, March 31st). Scouts should enter at the back door of the Town Hall, up the handicap ramp. We should have someone there to direct you where to go. The rehearsal will run for the usual Troop meeting time, 7:00 - 8:30pm.
Please come in full class A's. Scout pants....wear them if you have them please. We will have a brief inspection first thing, to make sure that everyone is looking their best for the CoH and for the upcoming West Point trip.
SPL and ASPL's. We will be looking to you to provide the coordination of activities 'behind the scenes, so to speak' that the Scouts have to participate in, as well as giving the Eagle Honor Guard their queue's for when they have responsibilities to perform. Mr. Pierce will meet with you before we start the rehearsal to briefly review what you need to do and when.
Also, please identify which Scouts will be representing the ranks during the CoH. These are the Scouts that will proceed from the back of the hall to the front and light the candles during the ceremony. If you already have that figured out, it will save time.
I will have copies of the CoH script for folks to use, take notes on, take them home, etc.
We look forward to seeing everyone Thursday evening at 7:00pm.

Pack 20 Webelos Crossover - Friday, April 13th
Hello Troop 20!
On Friday, April 13th, Pack 20 will be holding their Webelos Crossover Ceremony at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. There are currently 5 Webelos who will be making the transition to Boy Scout and joining Troop 20. We understand that some Scouts may be busy on a Friday evening but if you can make it, we would like to have every Scout possible there to welcome our new Boy Scouts into the Troop. This is a significant event for all of them, you all remember when you crossed over, and we should all be there to make them feel welcome and to show them what being a Boy Scout is all about.

Eagle Scout Court of Honor - Saturday, March 31st at 5:30pm - Middleborough Town Hall
Hello Troop 20!
The Troop Leaders would like to remind everyone that next Saturday, March 31st, there will be an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Preston Brown. It will be held at the Middleborough Town Hall Ballroom and will start at 5:30pm. We are asking all Troop 20 Scouts and their families to please plan on joining us for this very special event.
Scouts are expected to be in full Class A uniforms and are asked to arrive at the town hall between 4:30 - 5:00 to help setup. The Brown family has arranged for food and refreshments immediately following the close of the ceremony. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 31st to recognize Preston's achievement!

We would like all Scouts to please be in full Class A uniforms for inspection.
1) Prior to the meeting, please go over your uniform and make sure you are wearing the correct rank insignia and your patches are up to date.
2) Uniform shirts should be clean and neat. If it's currently in a ball in a corner of your room somewhere, now would be a good time to unravel it and run it through the laundry. 😉
3) If you have a merit badge sash, please make sure all of your merit badges are in place and the sash is neat and clean.
4) You should be wearing your Troop 20 neckerchief, slide, and hat.
5) If you have scout pants, please make sure you are wearing them.
We'll see everyone this Thursday at the Town Hall, 7:00pm sharp. Have a great week everyone!

Troop Meeting this Thursday, March 22 at 7:00pm - Sacred Heart Parish Hall
Hello Troop 20!
We are planning to have our regular Troop Meeting this Thursday, March 22nd, at 7:00pm at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. If, due to the weather, we have to alter these plans, an announcement will go out on the Troop Blog. Please make sure you check the blog before coming to the meeting to avoid an unnecessary trip.
Again, we are still planning to hold the Troop Meeting this Thursday but watch the blog for any changes to those plans.
Announcements:
1) Any Scouts working on the Personal Management Merit Badge should check in with Mrs. Swindle. Please remember that you are expected to be working on this outside of the Troop meetings.
2) Mr. Devine will need to meet with the West Point Light-fighters for about 15 minutes. An announcement will be made at the start of the meeting to firm up time.
3) For any Scouts working on the Backpacking Merit Badge, our next 3-day backpacking trek will be coming up April 20-22. Please see the attached document from Mr. Devine for important information about that trip.

Troop Meeting this Thursday, March 15 at 7:00pm - Sacred Heart Parish Hall
Hello Troop 20!
We hope everyone weathered the storm OK. Just a reminder that we will be having a Troop Meeting this Thursday, March 15th at 7:00pm at the Parish Hall.
Those scouts participating in the Communication Merit Badge should bring whatever work they have completed. If you haven't done any work on the badge......what are you waiting for?
Mr. Devine will be talking with the West Point backpackers.

No Troop Meeting this Thursday, 3/8
Hello Troop 20!
We hope everyone fared well in last week's storm and we hope everyone stays warm and dry during this weeks weather. Hang in there.....we're only 13 days away from the first day of spring!! (March 20) 😎
We will not be having a regular Troop meeting this Thursday, March 8th. Instead, we will meeting on Saturday, March 10th at the YMCA in Middleborough from 12:00-2:00 to go swimming. There will be a cost of $5.00 per Scout. Please plan to meet at the Y for noontime if you plan to attend.
For those Scouts attending West Point, it's getting closer so we're going to have to start ramping up our hikes and get in some backpacking shakedown hikes. We will also be looking for time to start meeting with the West Point crew on a regular basis to be sure we're ready for the event in about 7 weeks. Keep an eye on the blog for more info as it becomes available.
Lastly, please remember that Daylight Savings time starts this Sunday so you need to set your clocks ahead 1 hour Saturday evening!
