There will be a bike ride tomorrow, Saturday, June 28th at the Cape Cod Canal at 9:00 AM.  Please meet near the railroad bridge in the parking lot.  Please be sure to bring sun block, water and a snack.

Pickup time will be 11:00 AM in the parking lot.

Court of Honor Tomorrow Night!

The last Court of Honor for this scouting year is tomorrow, Thursday, June 26th at 7:00 PM.  Please join us to celebrate the many accomplishments that the scouts have made during the last part of this scouting year!

If your scout has advanced rank since the last Court of Honor in February, please have them bring their Scout Handbooks, as I need to record all the correct dates in the system to send to BSA Headquarters for a year end report.

Nantucket Trip Pick Up Time

For the parents of scouts who attended the Nantucket bike trip, the group expects to be back at the rear parking lot of the Parish Hall by approximately 6:15 PM.  Their ferry gets in at 5:00 PM - so depending on traffic it may be a little later.  If for some reason they are running very late due to traffic, I will send an email so parents will not have to wait too long.

Reminders for Tonight!

If anyone has any tents that they took home from the West Point camp out - they must be returned tonight for the Nantucket trip this weekend.  Also, don't forget that all the bikes must be dropped off tonight.  We will have details for drop off and pick up times tonight at the meeting - and these will be posted here on the blog later this evening.

Tonight is also the last call for blue merit badge cards.  I am going to have a list at the meeting tonight of the badges that will be given out at Court of Honor next week.  Please review the list tonight to see if you think you have anything missing.  Also - if you feel you are owed something from last Court of Honor, please let me know tonight (I know I have been approached from a couple of scouts about this).  If you don't get something at Court of Honor that you expected to get - you won't be able to get it until Fall Court of Honor if you don't let me know tonight.

Bikes for Nantucket Trip

For scouts attending the bike trip to Nantucket this weekend, please be sure to bring your bikes to the Troop Meeting tomorrow, June 19th.  The bikes will be loaded onto the truck in the rear parking lot of the Parish Hall at 7:00 PM, and the troop meeting will be held upstairs at the Parish Hall.

ALL BIKES MUST BE BROUGHT ON THURSDAY NIGHT - NO EXCEPTIONS!

Reminders - Meeting Tonight and SPL

There will be a regular Troop Meeting tonight, June 12th, upstairs at the Parish Hall at 7:00 PM.  If you still owe money for summer camp or have not turned in your BSA medical form, please try to get these items in as soon as possible.

Don't forget the "test" bike ride this Saturday at the Cape Cod Canal (see entry below).  If you have any questions regarding this ride or the Nantucket trip, please be sure to ask them tonight.

Also, any scout who wants to be considered by Senior Patrol Leader must arrive by 7:00 PM tonight and be in FULL Class A uniform.

Test Ride for Nantucket Bike Trip

The test/pre-ride for the Nantucket Bike Trip is this Saturday, June 14th.  Please meet at the beginning of the trail on the mainland side of the at 9:00 AM.  Pickup will be at 1:00 PM in the same location.

Directions from Middleborough:
Take Route 25 to Exit 1 (there will be a rotary) and follow the signs for Main Street, Buzzard's Bay.  About a mile down on the left, you will see the railroad bridge and parking lot that marks the beginning of the bike path.

For this ride, you MUST bring the following:
Water for the day - IMPORTANT!  One small bottle will not be enough!
Sandwich or something for lunch in a day pack
Bike helmet and bike in good working order

There will be no bike pump available, so please be sure your tires are at the correct pressure and your bike is in good running order.

Please ride your bike beforehand to get the dust and cobwebs off your bike (and yourself).

IF YOU DO NOT MAKE THE TEST RIDE, OR CANNOT COMPLETE THE 14 MILES TRIP (WITH A BREAK AT THE 7 MILE MARK), YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO ON THE NANTUCKET BIKE TRIP.  Due to the fact that we will be on the rail to trail system, we need to make this mandatory.

If you have any questions, please be sure to ask at this week's meeting.

There will be a regular Troop Meeting tomorrow night, June 5th, at 7:00 PM upstairs at the Parish Hall.

Testing 1 - 2 - 3 . . .

There seems to be a time lag between when I put a post up to when certain email accounts receive it.  This post is just a test to see how long it takes to have this arrive in a non-Gmail account that I have set up.  If you have signed up to receive updates via email, and you notice that it takes a few hours from the time the post is put up for you to see it in your email (you can look at the bottom on the post to see when I submitted it), please let me know.  Hopefully there will be a way to remedy this problem.
