Hope everyone had a great summer! Whether you attended summer camp, worked or did other activities we're looking forward to hearing about it!

We are having our first meeting Thursday, September 25th at 7pm at the Parish Hall. Please arrive in uniform. As always, the meeting is scheduled to BEGIN at 7pm so please plan accordingly.

Please also give some thought to activities you'd like to do this upcoming year. The adult leaders have come up with a few, but we need your input! We want you to do things you enjoy doing, not what we think you'll enjoy!! Please come up with at least one thing to suggest.

We will be going over a few things at the beginning of the meeting, so we are asking all parents to hang around a bit if possible.

Important!! Camp information!

 Hi everyone! Hope you’re enjoying your summer.

An email was sent to those attending camp. But here’s what was said in case you didn’t get it:

Scouts and Parents,

Camp Squanto 2022 is just a few days away.  Here is what you need to know:

General info:

- The theme this year is Pirates so if you have any costumes or supplies to decorate our site, just bring them along.

- We are at the Sioux site.  Look for the sign as you enter the parking lot on the right side.

- Drop off is at 1:45.  They ask that you park your car in one of the spaces and carry your luggage over to the Sioux sign.

- Closing ceremony on Saturday is at 9:45 am and parents are invited to attend.  Pick up is at 10:15 am.

- Open-toed shoes cannot be worn at camp by scouts during the week or parents during drop off/pick up.

- It is best to wear your swim suit on Sunday since you will be going directly to the waterfront for a swim test after check-in.  

- There is no parents' visit day this year. The relay race will be held on Thursday and it will be live-streamed on Facebook.

- Be sure to bring your water bottle, sunscreen and bug spray. 

- Remember to bring your Class A shirt since you must wear it to colors and dinner every day.

Meds:

- As we did last year, we can dispense meds from our campsite. However, a parent must stay and go through the meds check-in on Sunday afternoon and authorize this.  There will be a lock box to keep the meds secure. 

- If you do not want meds dispensed from the campsite, the Squanto medical staff will be happy to do it at the health lodge.

- Epipens and inhalers should be kept with the scout to ensure prompt application if necessary.

- Medical forms must be submitted through CampDocs this year.  You will get an email from Mayflower Council with the link to CampDocs.  I had to change my password to get in.  Before you login scan your health insurance card, page B2 and page C of the medical form.  Page B2 can be used as the immunization record.  If you do not have access to a scanner you can take a picture with your phone and email it to your computer.

- Everyone will get a Covid Prescreening email by the end of  the week.  This must be filled out online before your scout can arrive at camp on Sunday.

- Over the counter meds must be in the original bottle, but do not have to be unopened like last year.

Directions and contact info:

- The best way to get to camp: enter Headquarters for Myles Standish State Forest into your GPS.

- Take a left on Lower College Pond Road when you get to Headquarters and then your first right on Half Pond Road.  

- Then follow the small signs to Camp Squanto.  It will take at least 10 minutes to get there after you arrive at Headquarters.

Kevin’s Eagle Project This week Monday and Tuesday 7/11 and 7/12

 If you could please put the following message on the blog that would be great. I also messaged the scout group chat with the information as well. 

Kevin MacDonald is beginning his Eagle Scout project next week at the Middleboro Council on Aging at 558 Plymouth Street. It will consist of working to scrape, sand, and power wash the gazebo and surrounding area on Monday (7/11) and Tuesday (7/12) from 1 to 4 pm. Bring work gloves and paint scrapers if you have them. Any help is appreciated.

This is a reminder that we have a troop meeting Thursday 6/16 from 7-8:30 at the Parish Hall. This is our second to last meeting. Our final meeting will be a Court of Honor on Thursday 6/23 from 7-8:30. 

This means two things:

1. If you are going to camp and haven’t paid, it needs to be done!

Just a reminder that we have aTroop Meeting Thursday May 19th from 7-8:30pm at the Parish Hall.

The price is $115 per person and this includes a wetsuit and camping for two nights.  If you have not payed please do so at the meeting on Thursday Also, bring everything you are going to need for the trip to the meeting on Thursday. We will be packing the truck at that time.  The Troop will provide the tents so no need to bring those but remember scouts will be bring the troop tent home to dry out after the trip.

Change of plans regarding Saturday April 23rd. We will NOT be meeting at the Oliver Estate to work on the bridge. Mr. B. Is unable to make it.

If you had already set this timer aside for community service, judge you to instead head over to Nemasket Hill Cemetery on Plymouth St(just down the road from Oliver Mill Park) at 10:00am to help rake and prep for Memorial Day. Please bring a rake.

This is a reminder that our weekly meeting is Thursday April 7th from 7-8:30pm at the Parish Hall. Please remember that the meeting is scheduled to start at 7pm, so please plan accordingly. 

Reminder that the Herring Run Festival is this weekend, April 9th and 10th. Since you’ve opted not to camp this weekend, you are responsible for getting yourself to the Oliver Mill Park at 7:30am (yes 7:30 IN  THE MORNING) on Saturday to help the vendors with set up. Class B please as this will involve unloading vehicles and helping carry things. Sunday afternoon you are expected to arrive at the festival at 4pm to help vndord tear down and pack up. Again, Class Bs please.

Apologies for the delay in posting, but this is your reminder def of our weekly Troop Meeting Thursday March 24 from 7-8:30pm at the Parish Hall.

If you have not already done so, please bring $100 deposit toward summer camp at Camp Squanto. You save $50 if we get signed up before March 31st! In addition, theTroop will pay an additional $50 toward camp. That’s $100 off!!! But we need your commitment in order to register! AND registration opens April 9th. Some merit badges (like shotgun, for example) fill quickly so you want to make sure you’re signed up asap.

URGENT!!! Ski Trip Paperwork/Registration etc 2/17 meeting

 ATTENTION everyone going on the ski trip February 25-27!!!

You absolutely MUST attend the 2/25 meeting. All paperwork/registration forms/medical cards needs to be completed. There will also be a brief meeting of the skiers to go over final details. This is extremely important as we will not be meeting again before the trip. Next week is school vacation so we don’t have a meeting on 2/24.

Saturday 2/5 from 1-3pm is Wayne’s Court of Honor. We are expecting everyone to be there to help Wayne celebrate this amazing achievement. Again, it is being held at Middleboro Town Hall, upstairs.

Sunday 2/6 is Scout Sunday. Service at Sacred Heart begins at 11am. Immediately following is the Red and Green/Blue and Gold at the Parish Hall. Everyone should plan to attend the banquet and bring your families.

Sunday 2/6 at 11am, we will be attending service at Sacred Heart Church. Immediately following, we will be at the Parish Hall for our Red & Green/Blue & Gold banquet/awards. We will be having a spaghetti supper.

I hope everyone had a wonderful break. We will be meeting on Thursday, January 6th at the Parish Hall from 7-8:30pm.

If you have not already done so, please talk to your parents about the Klondike Derby being held on Saturday, January 15th from 8:30am-4:30 pm at Camp Cachalot in Plymouth, and let Alex know whether you can go or not. We need to register by the 8th.

For those of you who have been working on the Emergency Preparedness (E-Prep) Merit Badge with Mr. Lamoureux, you will be finishing that up, so come prepared.
